Privacy Policy

Forklist ("the App") is developed by Blue Jinjer, LLC. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

What We Collect

When "Share Usage Data" is enabled (the default), the App collects anonymous usage statistics through Mixpanel, a third-party analytics service. This includes:

  • Feature usage events (e.g., scans started, recipes saved, lists exported)
  • Subscription tier (free or pro)
  • Aggregate scan counts
  • App version and install date

What We Do NOT Collect

  • Your name, email address, or phone number
  • Photos or images you scan
  • Recipe text or ingredient content
  • Location data
  • Contacts or other personal data
  • Apple advertising identifier (IDFA)

How We Use the Data

Anonymous usage data helps us understand which features are most useful, identify issues, and improve the App. We do not sell, share, or use this data for advertising.

Third-Party Services

  • Mixpanel — analytics processing. Mixpanel receives anonymous event data and assigns its own random identifier. Mixpanel Privacy Policy
  • Anthropic (Claude API) — recipe text is sent to Anthropic's API via our secure relay for ingredient extraction. Text is processed in real time and not stored by Anthropic beyond the API call. Anthropic Privacy Policy
  • Apple StoreKit — subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store payment details.

Your Choices

You can disable anonymous usage analytics at any time by turning off "Share Usage Data" in Settings. When disabled, no events are sent to Mixpanel.

Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data is retained by Mixpanel for up to 5 years. Since the data is not linked to your identity, it cannot be individually deleted. Disabling analytics stops all future data collection immediately.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
